History
In 1894, James Thomas Haynes and William Ira Haynes opened Haynes Bros. James was an engraver and jeweler and chairman of the board, and William was an optometrist.
Since its founding, the business has flourished through generations of the Haynes family. Following in the footsteps of his father, James Floyd Haynes took over and ran the family business for another 60 years. During his tenure, Haynes was the official caretaker of the courthouse clocks.
Once again, in 1962, the business was handed down to the following generation. John C. Haynes became the new owner of the family business in that year.
